National Conference, face-to-face, Dornod (Mongolia), 25 till 28 April 2022

The Dornod national conference and workshops were the third national face-to-face MELINC events with digital interventions from non-Mongolian partners for participants from mainly the Eastern aimags (provinces) including Dornod aimag, Khentii aimag and Sukhbaatar aimag. The event was hosted by Dornod University.. The academic event for university staff and the post-graduate trainings for teachers, was attended by representatives of the Dornod Governor Office, the Dornod Education and Science Department, the Dornod Labour and Welfare Agency, the Education and Science Department of Sukhbaatar province, the Education and Science Department of Khentii province, the Mongolian National Federation of Disabled People, the Association of Parent’s with a Disabled Child, the Association of Blind People, the Association of Disabled People of Khentii province.
It showcased the ERASMUS+ MELINC video tutorials and the first-year accomplishments within the Mongolian partner institutions from the MELINC project. The partners informed participants about the benefits for the students and the impact of the project on stakeholders and other users of the modular online inclusive education course including legal, pedagogical and psychological issues for teachers working with students with additional support needs and disabilities.
The representatives from i.e. the Governor Office, the Education and Science Departments, the Labour and Welfare Agency outlined the inclusive education policy implementation process in the Dornod, Sukhbaatar and Khentii provinces.
Special workshops were dedicated to the methodology for result-based curriculum development, the introduction of sustainable development goals and inclusive education in education, the legal environment for inclusive education in Mongolia and advocacy for inclusive education, social enterpreneurship and active engagement of HEIs.
The conference also provided an opportunity for teachers to exchange experiences about working with pupils with disabilities in their classrooms and schools.
