EduLAw members attended the lecture by professor Mwiza Jo Nkhata of the African Court of Human and Peoples’ Rights (Tanzania). The lecture was hosted by the Free State Centre for Human Rights. Professor Mwiza Jo Nkhata holds an lLLD and LLM from the University of Pretoria and is extraordinary professor at the Free State Centre for Human Rights. His lecture gave insights into the role of African regional organisations in strengthening human rights and the rule of law on the African continent. Promoting and protecting human and peoples’ rights in accordance with the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights is one of the key tenets of the Africa Union as proclaimed by its Constitutive Act.
