The University of Bialystok is located in the north-eastern part of Poland, in the bordering region with Belarus and Lithuania.
The Faculty of Law is one of the strongest and highly ranked in the country. It provides BA and MA and PhD studies in law, administration, national security and criminology and has a total of around 4.000 students. It has an Comparative EU-US Summer Law Program (accredited by the American Bar Association) in cooperation with Michigan State University College of Law which focuses on the rule of law and human rights in comparative perspective. It has also a Legal Clinic operating at the Faculty, has its Publishing House issuing the Bialystok Law Books and Law&Culture series as well as three legal periodicals Bialystok Law Studies, Miscellanea Historico-Iuridica and Studia Iuridica Agraria.
Teacher education at the University of Bialystok mainly takes place at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, offering bachelor and master education in Early Childhood and Elementary Education majors. Additionally, the Lifelong Learning Center which functions at the University provides an intensive teacher training programme of 420 hrs, preparing for the teacher’s profession. The Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology offers two main programmes: pedagogy with 8 major specializations, and social work.
