On 9 September 2024, the Mongolian delegation visited WAAK, exploring its innovative methods for providing supportive care and promoting community integration for people with special needs. WAAK is a pioneering custom company (‘maatwerkbedrijf’) specializing in metal assembly, plastic assembly, and cable assembly for industries such as HVAC, charging stations, and automotive. WAAK representatives highlighted why companies collaborate with custom companies and the benefits of partnering with a social enterprise like WAAK, emphasizing its significant societal value and corporate social responsibility. They also explained WAAK’s commitment to delivering the highest quality. Additionally, the delegation was briefed on regulations concerning custom work (‘maatwerkbedrijf’) for integrating people with special needs, covering aspects of financing, training, coaching, and support. Feedback discussions focused on best practices and how to apply these insights to international collaborations.
